Taco Bell false advertisement??

My bf went to Taco Bell yesterday, and happened to notice that they now charge 10 cents extra per taco if you get a soft taco instead of a hard taco. Is this a common practise?

The price listed on the menu board states one price for both soft and hard tacos.

If Burger King has to post a notice that they charge 20 cents extra for a piece of cheese, shouldn't Taco Bell have to tell the customer that they are charging them extra for a soft shell?

My friend asked why they charged extra for a soft shell, and she was told ';that's just how we do it';.Taco Bell false advertisement??
First, I believe they have been charging $.10 extra for soft (reg) taco's all along.

If not, go back to the store, look at the menu, if it doesn't show the extra charge, take a picture of the menu. Use a digital camera so you can check to make sure you can read it clearly. By the way take the picture from the drive thru (that may go without saying).

Then call corporate, call you local Television stations ';Call for Action'; or the investigative reporter(s), and lodge a complaint. Tell them you're doing this, and it's not fair to consumers. Also it's NOT the money ($.10) it's the principal of the issue. The reason Taco Bell had to put up the digital machines that show you your total is because their employees were giving out the wrong total and pocketing the difference, they have had a long history or lies, deceit and thievery. Take pictures of several locations and see if they all do it or just that one location. That's how you'll get the satisfaction from a corporation, you make the discrepancy PUBLIC, and EMBARRASS the owner/operator/company.Taco Bell false advertisement??
Thank you for choosing me, I see your point they also had a well thought out answer.

I hope you follow through with this!

thats wierd.

I like the soft ones better
I don't understand that. Was it because he ordered a supreme instead of a regular? Otherwise, I don't think the price should change. I would call and ask the manager. Because if the soft taco and the hard taco are both the same price if you order them separate, then they should be the same price if you swap one for the other in a combo. Don't let it slide. It may only be ten cents...but it's rediculous. They cost the same. Contact the store manager. If they don't help you, ask for the number for the district manager. You should also call the number on their reciepts and leave a loooooong comment.
any food place should put on the menu board extra charge for cheese i would call corp to find out the real truth
Asking the average employee why they charge extra probably wont yield any good results. But they should definetly have to post it on the menu if there is a difference in price.
wow thats weird i think its worth the 10 cents but they should have told her
Does your state have fair pricing laws? You should do the following:

1) Contact the store manager (get their name, it may be useful later) about the price difference and if it doesn't say the price is different, bring this up.

2) If no satisfaction, contact the company comment line, make sure you have your receipt for store number info, etc.

3) If still no satisfaction, contact your state consumer affairs department and file a complaint. If you have person's names, mention those in your complaint.

I have had problems with various companies (including the old MCI) and Virginia has the State Corporation Commission and some other agencies where I have received offical letters of apology (and in some cases compemsation).
your right if its not posted then they can not charge extra.I would call corp.. and tell them on whats going on at that store..
usually the soft shell is higher no matter where u go
