some advertisements are propagandising false messages to the person. For example after 2 cm makeup on face and so much lighting on the person and with gimmicks if a persons says The XXXXXX soap is the reason for my beauty. Is it misleading people in wrong way? That is one kind of deceiving nature. If any person decive out side the world the police arresting and the court is punishing the deceiver. why not in ads. When they are deceiving the people what the Government doing. The advertisement must some meaning and natural. What to do? As far as products go, we vote with our money. For instance, Betamax was probably superior to VHS but the public went for the cheaper machine and Sony gave up that format. Sadly, there is a sucker born every minute - or nanosecond - who will buy the crap they see in advertisements. Just look at the garbage that sells on e-bay.
But, do I want some advertising police? Not really. We already have it to some extend - Better Business Bureau, Consumer Reports, FDA, etc - but those are mainly for protecting the public, not protecting the public from itself.If the advertisements of some articles giving false ideas? what to do?
